The Association for the Promotion of Fencing Art was founded in Stockholm in 1901 and is Sweden’s oldest fencing club. Today, the association has about 350 members and is one of Sweden’s largest and most successful clubs of all time. Our greatness is also our strength, it gives us the opportunity to both develop successful competition fencers and to have a broad and appreciated exercise activity for all ages, with active members between 9 and 85 years.
Our main weapon is sword, but we also have groups that fencing saber and floret.
Today, we invest heavily in our youth activities with the goal of developing both competition fencers and members with a lifelong interest in fencing and sports. Our goal in the youth activities is long-term, based on thorough technical training, the young people should have fun and develop according to their own abilities.
The association currently has three employed coaches. The fencing master is the French-educated Thierry Trottein. To help him, he has two fencing coaches, Grigori Beskin and Max Körlinge.
In addition to training, the club offers popular event fencing of various kinds. We arrange, for example, bridal showers and bachelorette parties, corporate fencing and children’s parties, where we make our premises, equipment and a fencer available to the participants.
In 2011, FFF moved to its own premises centrally located at Döbelnsgatan 60 in Stockholm. A total of 580 square meters fully adapted for fencing, with a changing room, classroom and a large fencing hall that holds 12 slopes.
